2024 Lou Perry Tour Championship- Recap

WINCHESTER, KY (October 27, 2024) – The Kentucky PGA Junior Tour concluded it’s season the weekend of October 26-27. Will Carter and Morgan Kennedy hung on in their second round to come out on top.

Carter shot the low round on Saturday with a score of 69 (-3) with six birdies for the Boys 16-18 division. He finished his second round with four birdies to help him hold onto his lead. Evan Taylor finished runner-up for the second year in a row, trailing Carter by only three strokes.

Kennedy played steady golf the entire weekend, with the tough course conditions in the late afternoon on day one she managed to put together a solid round of 77, carding two birdies on the day. Defending Lou Perry Champion Anika Okuda hung on closely with Kennedy until the last three holes.

In the Boys 13-15 division, Finn Johnson had two successful days, shooting 72 (E) on day one and finished his final round with a back nine total of 33 (-2). He carded two solo birdies on the back nine to secure his five-stroke victory over Lane McConathy who also shot under par on the back nine with a total of 34 (-1).

In the Girls 13-15 division, Rosie Patterson held on to her lead after the division’s low round of 75, to finish five shots ahead of the 13-15 Girls’ Player of the Year winner, Heidi Mitchell who made a charge for the lead on day two shooting a 79.

Great golf continued into the younger nine-hole divisions. In the Boys 11-12 division Max DeHaven successfully held onto his lead on day two in very cold conditions, tying the low score for the morning of 40. Braden Hendricks also held on by a small margin to Mason Day in the Boys 10 & Under Division. Hendricks carded the low score on Saturday for his division shooting a 37. After being tied with Maclan Foley on day one, Maximus Shadler carded a low round of 38 (+3) in his final round to round out the Boys 8 & Under Division.

Parker Haddix dominated the field in the Girls 10-12 Division, finishing with a two-day total of 74 (+4) and winning by sixteen strokes. She only carded one bogey in her day one score of 36 (+1) and carded two birdies in her final round. Another dominating performance in the Girls 9 & Under Division, winning by a margin of 19 strokes was Madeline Sherertz. Sherertz carded three birdies in her final round, including two in the last two holes to shoot an impressive 36 (+1).
