Sixteen Players Advance to Drive, Chip & Putt Regional Qualifying
LOUISVILLE, KY (August 1, 2021) – More than 90 young golfers across Kentucky successfully advanced through Drive, Chip & Putt Local Qualifying throughout June and July. By virtue of doing so, they had earned the right to compete in Sunday’s Sub-Regional Qualifier at Persimmon Ridge Golf Club in Louisville.
This step in the competition’s qualifying process is the second of three stages players must advance through in order to reach the National Finals held at Augusta National Golf Club prior to Masters week. Sixteen players completed that step at Persimmon Ridge and will now be eligible to compete in the Regional Qualifier, which for Kentuckians will be held at Oakland Hills Country Club just outside of Detroit, Michigan. Oakland Hills has previously hosted six U.S. Opens, three PGA Championships and the 2004 Ryder Cup. The players who will be there to compete in the Regional Qualifier on October 16 finished top-two in their respective division on Sunday, and are as follows:

Kentucky Junior Golf extends its thanks to Steve Shafer, PGA Director of Golf and his team’s assistance at Persimmon Ridge for their dedication in helping make this a successful qualifier. Appreciation is also expressed towards each player and family member who participated in today’s event at Persimmon Ridge.
This event concludes the Drive, Chip & Putt qualifying season in Kentucky. Golf House Kentucky and its respective organizations thank the more than 400 players and their families who signed up for a qualifier this year and took part in the 2021-22 qualifying season. Golf House Kentucky looks forward to watching the sixteen players who qualified at Persimmon Ridge on Sunday at the Regional Qualifier in October, and already eagerly awaits the 2022-23 qualifying season next summer. The schedule with those qualifier dates and sites will be released this winter.
