MacKenzie Peyton Hired as Director, Junior Tour
MacKenzie Peyton set to begin running the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour.
LOUISVILLE, KY (March 21, 2023) – Golf House Kentucky has hired MacKenzie Peyton to the role of Director, Junior Tour. Starting this season, Peyton will lead the operation of the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour and premier high school competitions such as the KGCA All-State Championships and KHSAA State Championships.
Originally from New Castle, Peyton attended Henry County High School and competed on the girls’ golf team. During her high school golf career, she notched two top-five finishes on the individual leaderboard at the KHSAA Girls State Championship, including a runner-up result in 2014. Peyton went on to compete collegiately with the University of South Alabama and completed a summer internship with Golf House Kentucky in 2019 as a USGA Boatwright intern. She would proceed to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication/media studies plus a master’s degree in sports management.
Following her time in college, Peyton moved across the country to assume the role of Coordinator, Championships and Golf Operations with the Southern California Golf Association. Late in 2021, Peyton returned to her home state of Kentucky to become the General Manager at Henry County Country Club. Now, Peyton will return to golf administration and lead the operation of the Tour she grew up playing.
“I am so excited to be back at Golf House Kentucky,” exclaimed Peyton. “This is a full-circle experience for me, as it was working as a USGA Boatwright intern with Ray Moehlman, PGA (Director, Professional Competitions) who helped me realize my passion for golf administration. I am excited to bring my love for the game and all I have learned through my time with GHK and the SCGA to Kentucky Junior Golf. I am so grateful for this opportunity and am ready to get started!”
“I am very excited to welcome MacKenzie back to Golf House Kentucky,” said Sally Morgan, PGA Executive Director. “After having grown up playing on the Junior Tour and serving as an operations intern, I am confident she will bring great perspective to this role and continue the positive momentum of our Kentucky PGA Junior Tour.”
Peyton’s first day on the job will be Monday, April 3. Her predecessor, Michael Vick, PGA, will be the on-site official of the Season Kickoff on April 1-2 before the role is transitioned to Peyton.
Golf House Kentucky looks forward to having Peyton return and is eager to have her as a full-time employee positively influencing junior golfers across the state.
