Pace of Play Part Two: Pre-Shot Routine
Part Two: Course Awareness
Getting to your ball and completing the pre-shot routine while another player in the group is hitting their shot is extremely recommended. If Player A is hitting first, Player B should be at their ball assessing the lie, yardage, taking practice swings, and deciding on a club all while Player A does the same process. If Player B hits shortly after Player A’s shot, both players will benefit from a fluid pace, as well groups behind. Not completing this process is unfair to your playing companions as well as other groups on the course as players’ rhythms will be thrown off.
