Flynn & Suttor Highlight Junior Tour Championship Winners
The Kentucky PGA Junior Tour Championship had the potential to be an incredible finish after how yesterday’s leaderboards developed, and the players delivered spectacularly. The final round of the Tour Championship concluded today at Big Spring Country Club Inc. – Harmony Landing Campus with six different junior golfers taking home first-place prizes; some of which came in memorable fashion.
The last division to finish, but the one with the most drama, was the Boys Overall Division. Andrew Flynn from Louisville successfully captured the title in a five-hole playoff over Hayes Mason from Campbellsville. The two each made par on the first hole of sudden-death, which was followed by each player stunningly making double bogey on the second hole. Two more pars from each player on the third and fourth extra holes gave way to Flynn winning with a par on the fifth after Mason was unable to get up and down from over the green.
“This is the first tournament I’ve ever won on the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour and it’s a pretty good one to win,” Flynn said afterwards. “The playoff was pretty draining both mentally and physically, and it’s not like either of us were expecting to make double bogey on a hole after we each shot 70 (-1) during our rounds today, but I hung in there and managed to get it done.”
The score of 70 that each player shot was the low round of the day in the Boys Overall Division. Each player entered the final round tied for the lead with Louisville’s Bryce Beard who shot 72 (+1) on Tuesday.

The Girls Overall Division became a two-horse race during the closing stretch between Rylee Suttor of Shelbyville and Madison Glisson of Paducah. Suttor topped Glisson by two strokes after an exciting back nine between a couple of players who are seven years apart in age. Suttor, who will begin her college career at Centre in Lexington this fall, used two birdies on her 14th and 16th holes to give her the edge necessary to beat the soon-to-be sixth grader in Glisson.
“I played some good golf these last two days,” Suttor said. “I made an eagle and three birdies during Monday’s round and three birdies again today so I’m pretty happy with how I played. Madison is such a good player though and has such a bright future. She’s going to win a lot of tournaments down the road, so it was fun to go up against her today.”
Two rounds of 76 (+4) each day from Suttor for a total of 152 (+8) and Glisson’s 154 (+10) gave them the first and second place trophies while Frankfort’s Emilie Hill was awarded with third place after a total score of 156 (+12).

Warren Thomis of Richmond captured the Boys 14 & Under title with a 36-hole score of 150 (+8). Landen Howard, who is also from Richmond, and Owen King of Crestwood tied for second and finished one shot behind Thomis after their final tallies of 151 (+9).
Cailyn Rogers of Lexington held off Paducah’s Ellie Roof by three strokes to win the Girls 14 & Under Division with a score of 166 (+24).
The Boys 12 & Under Division belongs to Liam O’Grady of Louisville after totaling impressive scores of 38 (+2) and 37 (+1) to finish at 75 (+3) and cruise to a five-shot margin of victory. Luc Kelty, another Louisville youngster, finished in second with 80 (+8).
Abigail Caine of Versailles nipped Hopkinsville’s Cate Blane by one stroke to win the Girls 12 & Under Division. Caine recorded two rounds of 41 (+5) to finish the Championship at 82 (+10) and get the big victory.
