Recapping a Busy Weekend on the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour

The Kentucky PGA Junior Tour is now in full swing following a busy weekend in Louisville and Lexington. Despite some chilly conditions to close the month of March, the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour Match Play Championship and Players Series at Griffin Gate went off without a hitch and produced a strong list of champions.

Valhalla Golf Club hosted five of the remaining six Championship matches in Match Play as ten of the state’s best junior golfers received the opportunity of a lifetime to compete at the championship-caliber course. Nearly every match came down to the wire, beginning with Prospect’s Miles Parroco defeating Connor Kirkham 1 UP to claim the Boys 15-18 Division Palmer Bracket. Evan Stewart of Hebron took down Micah Bertram by a 2&1 margin to capture the Boys 15-18 Division Players Bracket. Hopkinsville’s Weston Wood also won 2&1 to win the Boys 15-18 Division Nicklaus Bracket over Ian Pestersime.

Outside of the Boys 15-18 Divisions, it was Sellersburg, Indiana’s Seth Hooe and Shelbyville’s Emily Allen who also captured the top prizes at Valhalla. Hooe defeated Jackson Whitaker 2&1 to win the Boys 14 & Under Division, while Allen defeated Reagan Toothaker 5&4 to secure the Girls 13-18 Division title. Over at Polo Fields Golf & Country Club, Jacob Holzer of Louisville came out victorious over Will Judd to win the Boys 12 & Under Division. Last week, Madison Glisson won the Girls 12 & Under Division on March 24 at Quail Chase Golf Club when she defeated Keira Yun 5&4.

The Kentucky PGA Junior Tour would like to extend its thanks to Valhalla Golf Club, Polo Fields Golf & Country Club and Quail Chase Golf Club for hosting this year’s Match Play Championship. For the complete list of results, click here.
