The Top 10 Junior Photos of 2022
The youth of Kentucky showcased the best of the game throughout 2022 at Kentucky PGA Junior Tour, Drive, Chip & Putt, and PGA Jr. League events. Our cameras captured more than 1,000 of the split-seconds these tournaments produced. Our staff examined each of them and picked the moments that stood out from the rest of the pack with our Top 10 Junior Photos of 2022.
At the DCP hosted by Man O'War Golf, there was a little family celebration between Finn and Judd Johnson plus their dad after Judd ended his day in style during the putting stage of the qualifier. High-fives and hugs were waiting for the young man when he got to his family to salute his performance.
Brighton Thompson and his dad were working hard to figure out what line to take on the 18th hole at Cherry Blossom Golf Club during the Lou Perry Tour Championship. Clearly, something in the distance looked like a good aiming point. Brighton then proceeded to smash his drive down the middle of the fairway.
The tee being perfectly parallel to the ground, the loose hat, and the flowing hair underneath it make this a moment that stands in time.
It's always tough for our team to decide on one parent-child photo over another, but this one from the Lexington Junior City Championship between Charlie Hix and her dad really stands out. We think it's pretty clear how much love Charlie has for her dad based on this shot.
One of our most beloved interns Joe Davis is also beloved among the golfers he's served for two summers now. At the DCP at Man O'War, he was full of support for participants while he manned the chipping station. Many high-fives and knuckles were bumped with Joe that day, but this one from a photography standpoint is tough to beat.
This is the first of two photos that are very similar. Here, we've got Cooper Eberle and his caddie from the Kentucky Boys Junior PGA Championship. The matching outfits are obviously noticeable and a great touch, but the soft smiles are what makes this photo for us.
Then you've got Radney Bales and Boo Crawley doing much of the same at the Lou Perry Tour Championship. This one gets a slight nod as the #4 photo because of Boo's arm being wrapped around Radney in a nice, sentimental moment.
The sight of a golf ball in the air makes us do crazy things to our faces. No finer example of that than this shot right here.
This was the sunrise at Seneca Golf Course during the second day of the Junior Falls Cities. We personally believe golf courses are the best place to view a sunrise, and we'll use this photo as proof of that. No, there is not a filter applied here either.
Our top photo of the year featues Matthew White and his dad from the DCP Regional Qualifier at Oxmoor Country Club. Unfortunately, the result Matthew got wasn't what he had hoped for, but the support of his dad is what matters here. If "Everything is going to be okay" is in the dictionary, this photo would perfectly serve as the definition.
