Two of Kentucky’s top junior golfers receive the 2022 Justin Thomas Grant.

LOUISVILLE, KY (May 16, 2022) – The family of Justin Thomas has selected Trinity Beth and Warren Thomis as the recipients of the 2022 Justin Thomas Grant. Designed to provide financial assistance to golfers whose records have proven they have potential to play at a collegiate level, this opportunity from the Thomas family and Kentucky Golf Foundation enables the recipients to play a more robust tournament schedule across the country to help them gain more exposure in leading to a college golf scholarship. The Beth and Thomis families will each receive $3,000 as the recipients of this year’s grant.

Trinity Beth is from Calvert City and will complete her time at North Marshall Middle School this spring before beginning her high school career at Marshall County this fall. She has already made waves across the Kentucky Junior Golf landscape and is establishing herself as one of the top female juniors in the state’s history. Last year alone, she won the Kentucky Girls Junior PGA Championship, the AJGA Junior All-Star presented by Auburn-Opelika Tourism, the KGCA All-State Championship, and helped Marshall County win the KHSAA Girls State Championship by 38 shots. Each of those accomplishments helped her become the Golf House Kentucky Girls Junior Player of the Year, making her one of the youngest females to ever earn that honor. With several years of junior competition still ahead of her, Beth has the opportunity to re-write the record books based on the success she has already achieved. Having the Justin Thomas Grant will give her that much more opportunity to do so.

“I am so happy to have received this grant,” Beth said. “I would like to thank Justin Thomas and his family for giving me this opportunity. This grant will give me so many opportunities to travel all over the country to play at the highest level while representing Kentucky.”

Warren Thomis is another rising star in the state and like Beth, is a past winner of the Kentucky Junior PGA Championship, having won the Boys title in 2020 at Gibson Bay Golf Course. Thomis was one of the local Kentuckians who represented the state during the National Boys Junior PGA Championship at Kearney Hill Golf Links in 2021, where he made the cut and finished T51 with a score of 69 (-3) to close out the championship. His 2022 season has gotten off to a fast start with two top-ten finishes in AJGA competition already. He finished T8 in the AJGA Junior at Canebrake Club in April and followed that up with a runner-up showing in the AJGA Huntsville Junior earlier this month. Currently ranked 264^th in the ROLEX AJGA rankings, Thomis could see his position improve this year with the Justin Thomas Grant set to help him and his family participate in more of those events.

“I am very honored and humbled to receive the Justin Thomas Grant,” Thomis stated. “This grant will go a long way in helping me achieve my goal of playing college golf by giving me the opportunity to gain exposure to college coaches by competing in national tournaments.”

The Kentucky Golf Foundation congratulates Trinity and Warren along with each of their families on receiving the Justin Thomas Grant. In addition, the KGF extends its appreciation towards the Thomas family for continuing to impact Kentucky Junior Golf through support of this grant.
